FAQs

What do I need in order to get a quote?
  1. High resolution photos of your pet. The more the merrier, the more photos I see, the more I can understand the character of your pet.
  2. A couple of sentences about your pet. Please include their name, breed (if possible) and a short description of their character.
What size will my portrait be?

All single drawings are quoted at my standard size (as below), unless otherwise specified. If you require a different size or multiple pets within one drawing just let me know so I can quote accordingly. Please note all sizes are approximate due to the nature of the work.

Paper size: approx. A3
Image area (dogs & cats head/neck study): approx. 5 x 5 inches
Image area (horses head/neck study): approx. 8 x 10 inches
Other animals or full body portraits – size to be discussed when quoting.

How much will my portrait cost?

This depends on the requirements so please get in touch for a no obligation quote.

Prices start at £100

Do you work in any other mediums?

All my drawings are in pencil. Only occasionally will I use other mediums. If this is something you are interested in please get in touch and I would be happy to discuss.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, gift vouchers are a great way to still give this special gift even if you’ve run out of time, or can’t get the photographs you need without ruining the surprise!

Please get in touch to purchase a gift voucher. These can be sent out to you or the recipient via post or email.

How long will it take?

This depends on the time of year and the requirements for the drawing. All drawings will be done on a first come first serve basis but I will endeavor to give an estimated completion date when quoting.

If you are buying a portrait as a gift (excluding Christmas) please allow at least 4 weeks. If you are buying a portrait as a Christmas gift, please allow at least 6 weeks.

If you have run out of time, don’t fret, I also offer gift vouchers. See the gift voucher section below for more information.

Can I have more than one animal in the same drawing?

Yes this is possible, please include the details in an email and I will be happy to discuss.

What if my photos are too large to send via email?

Don’t worry, get in touch and I can provide a link for you to easily upload your photos to.

What if I don’t have the right photo, or my photo isn’t high enough resolution?

Please don’t worry, I can provide a simple guide to taking the best photograph for your drawing so just get in touch.

If you don’t have a camera with a high enough resolution or are unable to take the photos yourself then I can offer a photographic service, by which I can come out to meet and take photographs myself of your pet. Costs for this service will be quoted separately and will depend on requirements and location. Please note that this service is subject to location and availability.

Do you draw other animals?

Yes, as well as dogs and horses I have drawn cats, cows, parrots… all sorts.

Just get in touch and we can discuss.

Is framing included?

I’m afraid I don’t offer a framing service as I feel this is a very personal decision that should be considered carefully once the drawing has been received. However, I recommend framing the drawing with a wide mount or double mount, to allow plenty of space for the drawing to standout within the frame
